I wanted to share a recent experience regarding my #EmailSecurity. A few days ago, Vivek Uppal informed me that my email address was being spoofed, meaning someone was impersonating me to potentially phish others. I was unaware of this until he explained it.

Concerned, I asked for Vivek's help, and he discovered eleven unauthorized accounts using my domain. He took immediate action to resolve this and significantly strengthened my email security settings.

He pointed out that the spoofed emails often used generic addresses like support@domain or sales@domain, but interestingly, the body text of these emails closely resembled my regular communications.

He clarified that my situation wasn't a 'hack' but rather an 'infection' related to the spoofing of my domain and email address.

I was one of the early clients of Vivek's consulting business. We had known each other from our time at Carbon Black. Vivek was the Director of Engineering for the Protect product line, while I was the architect for a different product.
